Book Release Feb 15th

Writing for Children and Teens with Self-Counsel Press will be released Feb. 15, 2016. I’ll post the cover when I get it. I’ve update writing information and added the contemporary ideas that are bombarding me everyday from the Internet to this new edition. The writing and publishing world has changed a great deal in the last ten years and there is much to write about. The lively Indie publishers have inspired the publishing world with their innovative publicity and reader-involved programs.  Some authors have “street teams” and virtual  tours. They have devoted fans, particularly in genres such as horror or romance, who send out the message about new books on behalf the author and create a dynamic buzz of excitement around the new book. Some writers ask for contributions to plots and suggestions about tension and resolutions. The readers can add to the story. It can be engaging for both the writer and the reader. The author’s trick is not to annoy the reader as you inform them. It’s a thin line. Some information and involvement is interesting; too much is irritating. No doubt readers will tell me if they like the contact. I expect to be meeting new writers who contact me about tips on the craft of writing I’ve included in the book, and experienced writers who take issue with me on publishing and marketing. It should be fun.
