The book launch For Hazards in Hampshire The British Book Tour Mysteries held at Gibsons Public Library last Saturday was a lot of fun. The audience was enthusiastic and, after the reading, asking interesting questions. The librarian had suggested, that since Hazards in Hampshire is set in England, we should have Afternoon Tea. That seemed brilliant until I had to spend four evenings polishing fifteen years of tarnish from my silver service. It did look elegant on the linen tablecloth, but we didn’t ‘use it as it was a bit too fussy for such a crowd. We had some of my elegant tea cups and saucers (also hidden in the cupboard for eons) and those, after a thorough wash, were used. It was a lot of fun after the reading to talk to the attendees and notice people milling about talking to each. Everyone but me seemed to have the skill of sipping tea, holding a piece of Victoria Sponge Cake and talking at the same time. I could just manage the talking. Bev from Talewind Books attended the reading with a load of books. She sold them all which was gratifying. The lovely Amaryllis was a gift from a friend.

The virtual Tour in November elicited many positive accolades for the book, but this launch created more personal support. It was heart-warming.

So nice to hear the ‘tea party’ went well and sales were good ! I would have loved to attend but the event was in conflict with a volunteer orientation at Dakota Ridge .
Still fighting with myself as I try to complete last few episodes of The Shoeless Horse.
