The weather has been windy and wild, but the daffodils have been determined and are taking over the street.
I thought selling my house would be a matter for the realtor, but it seems it involves me a great deal because I have to leave when someone looks at the house and leave the house tidy and staged. I don’t usually live in such a neat environment, so there is constant disruption. the dog loves it, as she gets many trips in the car while I run errands during the showing of the house. My study is the exception to this excessive tidiness I can’t possibly move the many stacks of books and papers, so I leave it as is. All the new books, all 95 of them are stacked around the bookshelves and in the closets. I hope it looks productive and not just messy.
I have a CBC radio interview tomorrow and a couple of book signings scheduled for later this month. After that, A friend and I are driving to Kamloops (398 km or 247 miles) to start a week-long tour of the Thompson-Nicola Valley taking Always on Call and Bloomsbury to Barkerville to seven communities: Kamloops, Clearwater, Barrier, Chase, Logan Lake, Merritt, and Ashcroft. I will post a schedule at the end of April. That is beautiful country and we are looking forward to meeting the people there as well as appreciating the Central Interior landscape. We are counting on the snow not getting in our way. It did snow on that road to Kamloops last year in May.
The local Arts and Words Festival taking place in August in Gibsons has paired up artists and authors for a joint creative work. I was lucky enough to get Michelle Neilson in the random draw. She has produced an amazing art work. It impresses me that an artist can read my work and find a new angle to showcase it.
