I have moved two blocks to my new condo and managed to get my office set up and reasonably organized. The rest of the house is semi-organized with boxes substituting as end tables and storage containers. The plan is … August and September for planning and designing and October for making changes. I’m looking forward to being settled by Christmas.
I am back writing. My new murder mystery series returned from my editor full, as usual, with suggestions for improvement. We both were struggling with one aspect of the book and after mulling it over, I realized I could fix the problem by changing the victim. It would, of course, been much wiser to have worked that out before I wrote 70,000 words, but I’m excited about how much better it makes the book, so I’m doing the huge re-write.
I will take a break at the end of August, because I have been invited to Barkerville for the Labour Day weekend. It will be great fun to meet the actor, Danette Boucher, who plays Miss Florence Wilson all summer long in that historic gold mining town. I’m arriving on September 4th and leaving on September 7th. They’re planning events while I am there and booking some time for me to sign the copies of Bloomsbury to Barkerville: The Life of Florence Wilson. When I know the schedule of events, I’ll send them around. If you can get to Barkerville for that weekend, look me up. It should be fun.
