The Adoption Conference

Nashville 3sm  Nashville, Tennessee, a land of green trees, wonderful people and 94% humidity. The adoption conference, North American Conference on Adoptable Children was, as usual, full of committed men and women working hard to educate themselves on how to help children who need homes, parents who need help and researchers who look for answers. Adam Pertman who wrote the foreword to my book Thicker Than Blood: Adoptive Parenting in the Modern World joined me at the Tapestry Books table with his book Adoption Nation: How the Adoption Revolution is Transforming Our Families–and America.  I wish I had started coming to these conferences when my children were small. I could have learned so much.
