This is my office where I expect I will spend a great deal of time in the next two weeks. One person; two chairs. Lots of work gets done here. But tomorrow life takes a turn
My two-week blog tour starts on Nov 11th. I have the compete tour schedule below, but will post the daily ones each morning. I, who spend most of my days in my nest surrounded by books thinking and typing, will be talking to people on-line from all over the world. I like people; I enjoy conferences such as the mystery writers and readers conference in Dallas Texas last week where enthusiastic readers inspire me to continue writing and accomplished authors make me wonder why I think I can even be in the same business. It balances out; so I return to my study and get back into my imaginary worlds.
A two-week daily world of talking about my books, or about other books readers are interested in is quite a different world for me. If you have participated in Goodreads or other mystery book blog sites, you will be familiar with the format. Some blogs will produce an interview with me, some will do a review of the book, a couple have asked me to produce a recipe, along with an explanation and picture of the results—I surprised myself there. I enjoyed it. My sister ate the results of one recipe, and I ate the others. On some blogs, I will have given my opinion of something or other concerning writing and on a couple, I have written the blog in the voice of one of the secondary characters. That was a lot of fun.
Let me know what you think of this process. It`s a little unsettling because I am writing Book Three in The British Book Tour Mystery series and I`m talking about Book One. I had a sharp jolt back into the first book when I heard the audio book read by Bianca Amato, who despite her Italian name, has a British accent. After listening to her, Claire Barclay bloomed in my mind, ready to take over the story.
Think of me, sitting at my computer as Emma Dakin, fingers on the keys, ready to participate in the British Book Tour Mysteries. I’m determined, it’s going to be fun.
