Adoptive Parenting Book.

As usual when I start a new book I feel ignorant. No matter how much I know on a subject and some have been the focus of a university degree, I still feel as if knowledge has moved on and I need to catch up. The Internet is my best friend at these times of research. It used to take weeks to get the information I can now call up in seconds. As long as I pay attention to the sources I read, I can form new ideas quickly.

And then, of course, there’s the writing. I decided to write out my initial draft in long hand, cursive writing, something I haven’t done in years. It slows my thinking and lets me be more reflective. I’m getting more connections, more development of ideas than I expected, so perhaps the process makes a difference.  It’s awkward because I am used to having my fingers fly to keep up with my thoughts, but cursive writing requires slow execution and correspondingly that slower thought. It’s interesting. Chapter three is getting its first draft.
