Wonderful to have Bruce Byfield offering a guest blog above. He is a well -known blogger and writer of analysis of open source software.  He has several books, one an analysis of science fiction writer, so is truly an eclectic and interesting writer. While he enjoys writing controversial blogs, I find I agree with what he is purporting here. He’d be delighted if anyone wished to write to him and disagree.
